So what Exactly Is Rolling Roots?
How Rolling Roots Was Born
It started the way most good ideas do — around a campfire, at a rally, with good people asking the right question.
A few years back, Lisa and Bill Anderson and Frank and I were at an FRVA rally when the conversation turned to something we'd all been feeling but hadn't quite named yet:
where are the families?
FRVA — known for decades as FMCA — has long been associated with retirees and Class A motorhomes. And for good reason. It's an incredible organization with real benefits and a passionate community. But in 2017 they opened the doors to towables, and in 2025 they made it official — a new name, Family RV Association, to reflect where they're headed.
The families just haven't caught up yet.
That's where we come in.
Rolling Roots was born from that rally conversation and it has taken us over three years to get here. Three years of navigating an organization built for a different season of life, advocating for a dedicated space, and believing that families who travel with kids — sometimes, part-time, full-time, or with grandchildren — deserve a community inside FRVA that was built for them.
We're finally here. And we need YOU.
FRVA is bringing families back. Rolling Roots is the dedicated space that makes that possible. But a community is only as strong as the people who show up for it.
Will you be one of them?
